The City Leadership Forum series continues May 4th with Dr. Shirley Raines and our topic of Command.
I spent the afternoon with Dr. Raines, and some of her staff last week. It got me really excited about next week.
Dr. Raines oversees nearly 23,000 students and 3,000 faculty. Her basketball team is a national presence and the physical campus under her leadership has become a jewel of Memphis. Her leadership is diverse with everything from an elementary school and a police force reporting to her.
Not only that, she is the first female president of the University of Memphis and shares that post with only about a dozen other females in NCAA Division I schools.
